Abstract
The properties of harmonic modes in the 110 kV network nodes, that power 11 traction substations of East Siberian railway on the section Zima-Taishet 400 km long, are analyzed based on measurements and calculations. Consideration is given to traction loads as sources of harmonic currents with probabilistic distribution of random values on a complex plain. The harmonic voltage measurements were used to assess proximity of a distribution function of real and imaginary components of random harmonic voltage values to the function of normal distribution. The influence of capacity loads in the network, switching of the capacitors, nonlinear loads on the harmonic voltage factors has been estimated. Distortion powers were used to estimate if the network can absorb harmonic currents from nonlinear loads. The choice of filters for normalization of harmonic voltages and their influence on harmonic mode in the network nodes was addressed.
