Abstract
The paper presents the design of a Ku-band (12.25 GHz-12.75 GHz) dual linear polarized microstrip patch reflectarray providing Australia and New Zealand coverage pattern for Optus Bl geostationary satellites. It describes a number of design stages, which are associated with the radiation pattern synthesis and realization of the array. Stacked microstrip patches of variable size are selected to phase the reflectarray and to provide the radiation pattern stable as a function of frequency. The realized radiation patterns are compared with the synthesised radiation patterns across the specified frequency band.
