Abstract
An antenna for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) wireless communication requires reliable communication, small size, and light weight. Therefore, dual-polarization and dipole-like radiation characteristics are desired to avoid discontinuous communication. In this letter, we demonstrate that a planar dual-polarized Co
Z hexaferrite antenna is applicable for UAV wireless communication. In order to reduce the size of antenna, Co
Z hexaferrite substrates were used. Furthermore, ground plane and feedline were designed to achieve good isolation, which is an important factor to realize a dual-polarized antenna.
