  • Abstract
An attempt has been made to determine whether an expert system shell can be developed while following the tenets of software engineering. This question has been answered in the affirmative through a review of how a graduate software engineering class of 20 students worked together to complete such a program within a few weeks and learned more than software engineering in the process
