Abstract :
Recently, a sealed maintenance-free aircraft battery has found its way into both military and commercial applications and is demonstrating its superior performance in a number of areas. The technology uses sealed space cell construction and accompanying plate fabrication techniques along with a higher standard of quality control. The technology promises to have a cycle time cost advantage over the conventional vented nickel cadmium and lead acid technologies. Data is presented on cycle life, performance characteristics, and relative costs
