Abstract :
Using of free-form shapes has become popular to design complex products in agricultural machinery that have to fulfill engineering requeirments as well as aesthetic criteria. It meets the need of intuition in the process of creative design and computer aided design (CAID). Virtual Model Making System (VMMS) is usually used in the field of automobile styling design, but seldom used in agricultural machinery fields. With some virtual product models, such as the tractor cab body, driver´s cabin and the whole appearances introduced in this paper to gain the benefits of model making. Meanwhile, in order to improve the immersion in virtual environment, haptics interface is integrated into the virtual model making system. The presented techniques in this paper can be used for virtual prototyping and many other CAID fields.
