Abstract :
This paper simulates in detail the different DC control modes: such as constant current (CC)-constant voltage (CV) mode, constant current (CC)-constant extinction angle (CEA), constant ignite angle (CIA)-deduction current control (DCC) and the two emergency control modes: voltage dependent current order limitation (VDCOL) and recovery of DC system. It discusses the effects of DC control on the risk indices of probabilistic transient stability of hybrid AC/DC power systems. It investigates and compares the statistical results of the modified EPRI-36 bus system, demonstrates that the different DC control modes may have positive or negative effects on the transient stability under different systems, and points out the necessity to optimizing and coordinating different DC control modes.
