Abstract :
Based on the theory research of the scour under submarine pipelines, some formulae about erosion-stopping velocity and erosion hole depth were set up. Besides, a vertical two-dimensional numerical model was used to simulate the time dependent local scour below submarine pipelines subject to unidirectional steady flow. It is found that standard k-ε turbulence model is more preferable than the SGS model in the 2D scour model developed in this study.
