Abstract :
Based on SPOT5 remote sensing image in 2008, the landuse landscape map of Huicheng Destrict was made by manual and Object-oriented Classification interpretations with ENVI and ArcGIS software. Through the calculation of landscape metrics, the formation of landuse landscape pattern in Huicheng, which as a case of outer area of Pearl River Delta, was analyzed quantitatively. The results indicated that connectivity of the landuse landscape pattern was stronger; diversity and evenness indices both were higher. Due to the human impacts, however, the landscape shape was more complicated and the stability was not good enough; the fragmentation degree differed greatly in every landuse types. In order to improve stability and adaptability of the landscape and realize the sustainable use of land resources, some countermeasures were put forward as the following: constructing the landscape pattern of the sustainable agriculture, using the planning measures, adjusting the vegetation structure, taking advantage of the tourism resource, and so on.
