Abstract :
We describe the results of the French national project, Cleopatre, which aimed to develop a set of free open-source software components dedicated to real-time computing systems. This library proposes a la carte real-time facilities in order to build a realtime operating system. It enhances LINUX/RTAI by supplying it with a large panel of services including dynamic schedulers, fault-tolerance and synchronization mechanisms and development tools based on oriented programming aspect
