Abstract :
In this paper, Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) pattern output modes are presented - global reset mode and phasing mode. Color intensity modulation methods: pulse width modulation and light source intensity modulation are analyzed and a mixed modulation method, for DMD applications, is presented. Analysis includes maximum possible frame rate versus composite light intensity. XGA resolution (1024 * 768), 0.7´ DMD device is analysed. High power red, green and blue Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are proposed as light source. Research shows that the mixed method can be used in certain applications.
