Abstract :
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is sensitive to carrier frequency offset (CFO) which will cause intercarrier interference (ICI). Frequency offset estimation and compensation scheme can estimate and compensate CFO. But due to the white Gaussian noise, the estimated CFO is inaccurate. In order to eliminate the residual CFO, the ICI self-cancellation scheme proposed by Y. Zhao[3] is adopted. However the major disadvantage of ICI self-cancellation is low bandwidth efficiency. So this paper presents an ameliorated ICI cancellation scheme, which estimates and compensates the CFO first and then adopts ICI self-cancellation to suppress the residual CFO. In addition, a method is used to double the bandwidth efficiency. The results show that the ameliorated scheme can reduce ICI significantly and improve the bandwidth efficiency.
