Abstract
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is in the approval process toward publication of the seventh edition of their Standard Number 70E, entitled "Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces". As in the past, changes resulted from public proposals and comments based on new technology, developments, and suggested clarifications in the area of electrical safety. The recommendations have been reviewed and approved by the NFPA 70E Technical Committee during actions on the proposals and comments over the past two years. Some significant changes are being made to the Standard in a continuing effort toward the elimination of injuries and fatalities in the electrical environment.
