Abstract
Mobile location estimation has gained considerable attention in recent years. However, the positioning accuracy of conventional algorithm based on TOA is decreased exceedingly in non-line-of-sight propagation (NLOS) environment. Over recent decades, numerous studies have examined NLOS error mitigation techniques. But most NLOS mitigation techniques are complex and do not work well in real wireless network. In this paper, a simple and efficient positioning algorithm based on TOA is proposed to mitigate the NLOS errors and fulfill high accuracy. The proposed scheme firstly determines the irregular overlapping region of the range circles deduced by TOAs. And then a weighting centroid algorithm is used to estimate the mobile position. Analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm can restrain the NLOS errors and achieve better location accuracy, compared with conventional positioning methods reported in the literatures.
