  • Abstract
The rock and soil mass physical and mechanical properties in the three gorges reservoir bank occurred in a significant change, easily induced by a variety of geological disasters, due to water level fluctuation, wave and other factors, after impoundment of the three gorges reservoir. First, relying on the three gorges reservoir bank project in Dazhou Wanzhou, qualitative analysis of the major factors of stability of reservoir bank is performed, and on this bases, quantitative analysis of the factors were further implemented. The results show that, the relationship between the reservoir safety factor and the shear strength parameters of rock and soil mass is generally linear, which the value of c has a greater effect on stability of the reservoir bank than the value of φ, accordingly, the deformation mechanism of the reservoir bank is identified, and it can provides the scientific enidence for engineering design. Then, this paper expounds the enidence and methods of the engineering design, and introduces the treatment measures taken by the project. Finally, through the analysis of the deformation monitoring data of the reservoir engineering, the results show the treatment measures of the reservoir bank in Dazhou are reasonable and effective. The research result can be referenced for the design and construction of the similar engineering.
