Abstract
Urban street systems are the essential part of the city. It has many functions including traffic, street landscape, free-barrier route for accessible entrances, and road/street signs, etc. Urban street systems play an important ecological and landscape function in cities. Especially street landscape, free-barrier accessibilities and street signs have received increasing attention over the past decade as a valid option for establishing healthy sustainable urban modernization. Within this paradigm, problems of urban street systems were analyzed from three aspects including street landscape, free-barrier accessibilities and road/street signs system. Approach and measures of strategies for protecting and restoring the availability of a wide array of critical landscape resources in urban street systems were proposed..
