Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm which combines fuzzy logical control (FLC) and Taguchi method to select the optimal cluster heads from a wireless sensor network (WSN). In a WSN, FLC algorithm is used to select cluster head and to reach the energy consumption balance among all nodes, which can in turn decrease the probability of the early death of the nodes. In addition, the equation of optimal number of clusters is used to decide the number of clusters of low-energy adaptive cluster head (LEACH) in a WSN. In FLC algorithm, the membership functions setting is very important, in order to achieve optimal parameter value, there are excessive number of experiments, therefore, we exploit Taguchi method was adopted to decrease the number of experiments. Thus, we can obtain the optimal parameter value of FLC algorithm, and the energy consumption of each node is balanced.
