Abstract :
A wideband printed slot antenna is presented. The form factor of the radiator is derived by combining aspects of a circular slot antenna with that of a bow-tie slot antenna. By doing so, a wideband impedance and radiation response has been achieved for the new, `Figure 8´ printed slot antenna. The antenna displays a less than 3:1 VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) bandwidth in excess of several octaves and the radiation pattern also holds its form over multiple octaves.
