Abstract :
We propose a hierarchical display method for small devices based on saliency. This method displays a large scale image in a small screen of a small mobile device as a mobile phone. In this method a region of interest (ROI) is detected using a saliency model. The region is successively detected hierarchically to produce a tree structure of ROI. Then we calculate the increasing rate of saliency in each node. Based on the rate, the order of selecting ROI is determined. This order is expected to correspond to how attention moves successively.
