Abstract :
This work presents the study of a three level DC-DC resonant buck converter with buck active clamping (buckbuck), soft switching (ZVS - zero voltage switching) and constant frequency PWM (pulse width modulation). The converter operation in three levels is motivated by the reduction of the maximum switches voltage, maintaining low switching losses. The disadvantages and the main advantages of this topology in relationship to a three level DC-DC resonant buck converter with boost active clamping (buck-boost) is also presented. In order to validate operation stages and design, experimental results for the proposed converter are presented.
