Abstract
A stability analysis of strange and simple attractors of a prey-predator map is performed. An evolution of the species along generations is computed with the purpose of contrasting with more sophisticated measures of complexity theory. It can be noticed that graphs of iterations alert on the presence of complex dynamics in certain regions of the parameter space. The computation of the Lyapunov characteristic exponents (LCE) shows regions of hyperchaos, an unusual fact in 2-dimensional maps that could be useful in signal encoding for secure communication.
