Abstract :
Wideband circular polarized cross bow tie antenna having stable radiation patterns working at terahertz range is proposed in this paper. Wide band crossbow tie antenna covering 100-600 GHz band is compact and novel for this range of frequencies and is optimized as suitable candidate as imaging pixel of terahertz focal plane arrays. Designed antenna shows constant impedance for S11 lower than -10 dB, 3 dB axial ratio band width of 50% and symmetrical radiation patterns. Circular polarized property of designed antenna is achieved by geometric parameters without any trivial feeding network. Quasi optical approach is adopted for tackling substrate mode loss issues. Radiation patterns of proposed feed mounted on lens is also computed using hybrid method of PORT and a comparison is also made between hybrid method and FEM.
