Abstract :
The paper analyzed the present channeling and signal timing of the traffic organization methods by the field survey on Hohhot railway station signalized intersection, and studied traffic operational conditions under the present situations. In order to reduce control delay and queue length by left-turns generating disturb, this paper proposed protected-plus-permitted phasing left-turn operation and optimized with synchro simulation system. After optimizing, control delay and queue length are obviously lower. The same time, the paper made a suggestion on setting the facilities of pedestrians crossing the intersection.
