Abstract :
The shallow groundwater of plain area is the main source of water supply for ZhengZhou city. Studying on the groundwater of plain area vulnerability has important and practical significance for using and protecting groundwater resources sustainablely. On the basis of DRASTIC model, DRATMC model is created by selecting the depth to shallow groundwater and other five parameters to assess shallow groundwater vulnerability in ZhengZhou plain area according to the specific of this area. Based on the established assessment model and GIS technique, shallow groundwater vulnerability assessment is conducted in this area. The results indicate that the area of high vulnerability and very-high vulnerability covers the whole evaluated area about 76% and most shallow groundwater of the whole evaluated area is vulnerable to contamination easily.
