Abstract
The modelling of heat dissipation from heat generating components through the device as a whole is fundamental to the future design of DC-DC converters. Simulation of device thermal performance prior to manufacture will enable rapid evaluation of material or component changes, and thus help to reduce the product development time. A 3-dimensional TLM based model of thermal diffusion within the component has, therefore, been constructed. Here we describe the “first generation” model of the thermal system and present the results of some preliminary simulations
