Abstract
In this paper, we propose an Opportunity Spectrum Access (OSA) strategy based on multichannel sensing. CR users decide the number of the channels to be used according to their own business requirements. At the same time, the channels CR users can use are limited. In the scenario, here we considered, CR users only can sense part of the channels due to hardware constraints. For the node, more time to sense means more chances to find idle channels to use, but it will decrease the time for data transmission. Therefore, the node needs to choose the optimal sensing time to get the maximal throughput. We take this problem as a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP) to find the optimal sense time.
