Abstract
The design of a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna combined with a polarization dependent artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) is presented. The gain and directivity of the embedded antenna structure, evaluated through an analysis tool based on method of moments (MoM), are improved with respect to the antenna without AMC. The current distributions of the antenna alone and of the antenna surrounded by the AMC are compared to analyze the effect of the artificial material.
