Abstract :
This study makes a quantitative comparison of algorithms used to generate epicardial activation maps. The choice of the right algorithm is critical since it should not introduce artifacts or obscure features that are present. Commonly used algorithms for map generation are gridding, triangulation and kriging. On visual inspection such maps may differ significantly. The evaluation of these algorithms is based on the root mean square error criteria and the kriging method yielded the least RMSE. Five data sets, obtained from canine infarct models of cardiac late potentials were used in the error analysis
