Abstract
Cerium incorporated ordered manganese oxide OMS-2 type catalysts containing cerium with different cerium contents in the form of incorporated cations were synthesized. The physicochemical properties of the materials were investigated employing XRD and FTIR. Catalytic activity was tested in the selective vapor phase oxidation of toluene to Benzaldehyde. Effects of content of cerium, reaction temperature, space velocity, molar ratio of air to toluene on catalyst performances were investigated. The optimal reaction conditions of Ce/OMS-2(wt%)=46% have obtained. At 723 K, space velocity 2400h−1, n(air):n(toluene) 4.2, conversion of toluene, selectivity of benzaldehyde could reach 14% and 85%, respectively. XRD, FTIR also showed that the synthesized Cerium-incorporated OMS-2 catalysts was matched with the well-crystallized octahedral molecular sieve crystal structure.
