Abstract :
This paper presents a cross-bispectral analysis of the ontogeny of the hippocampal EEG recorded from the dentate gyrus and CA1. The effects of nonlinear quadratic phase coupling between hippocampal EEG at CA1 and the dentate gyrus was examined using the cross-bicoherence index. Results of cross-bispectral analysis of the hippocampal EEG during REM sleep shows the shift to higher θ frequency as animals mature from 15 to 90 days of age
