Abstract
Handoff management is a critical issue for seamless connectivity in heterogeneous networks. Call termination due to migration from one network to other network is not appreciated in today´s high- speed communication intensive world. This paper deals with the problem of vertical handoff in heterogeneous networks for streaming data. In this paper, a novel method is proposed for vertical handoff by using clustering of networks (WLAN, WiMAX and 3G) and packet delivery through tunneling in different clusters. The K-means algorithm is used for cluster formation in different networks. The performance evaluation of such simulation is done in Network Simulator (NS-2). The results of simulation are satisfactory.
