  • Abstract
    A small and low profile patch antenna in low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) is presented. Wide bandwidth and stable boresight radiation pattern is realized installing a metal cavity with corrugated walls. The cavity suppresses surface wave propagations and a boresight radiation is obtained. The corrugated walls realize a wide bandwidth. In simulation, the return loss below -10 dB in the frequency band from 57 to 65 GHz and the gain of around 5 dBi are calculated from 57 to 64 GHz. The dimension of the proposed antenna is 2.2 × 2.2 mm square including the cavity and the thickness of the substrate is 0.28 mm.
