Abstract :
A new method measuring fluid attenuation spectra is presented. Two opposed transducers are stimulated simultaneously. The measured spectra of reverberation and transmitted pulse are used to compensate the probe response, yielding the fluid transfer function which gives the fluid attenuation. The approach is tested on different liquids, measuring the attenuation in a frequency range from 3...8 MHz. The obtained results as well as the impact of a non-ideal probe response are discussed.
