Abstract :
A new approach to the construction of the theory of electromagnetic wave scattering by periodic sequences of partly transparent screens is suggested. A periodic sequence is either an infinite structure of equidistant plane screens, or a semi-infinite or finite part of such a structure. The operator of the reflection by a semi-infinite periodic structure is most essential in the developed theory. A periodic strip array is considered mainly as an element of the multi-layered structure.
