Abstract
This paper presents a methodology for composing a SOA service chain by evaluating and selecting a service for the purpose of business result optimization. The methodology requires the business performance model for applied services to measure the value produced by services in a specific business context. Understanding the business characteristics where services are applied is a prerequisite for evaluating the business value of a business process that uses these services. The quality characteristics of SOA services could lead to the varieties of business optimization result, or to select simply optimal path of service chain. In this paper, we analyze the business performance and quality characteristics of SOA services and present a service composition scheme for optimizing business result.
