Abstract :
One novel Cu(II)-Fe(III) heteronuclear complex [Cu2(oxen)Fe(CN)5(NO)]n (H2oxen = N,N´-bis(2-aminoethyl)oxamide) was synthesized by the reaction of Cu(oxen)·2H2O with Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O and Na2[Fe(CN)5NO]·2H2O. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes orthorhombic with space group Pnma, and forms a centrosymmetric Cu(II)-Fe(III) heteronuclear molecule in which an oxamido group in the trans conformation bridges two crystallographically equivalent copper(II) ions with the Cu⋯Cu separation of 5.284(2) Å. Fe atom is in a slightly distorted octahedral environment. The title complex is assembled into a novel 2D sheet-like heteronuclear polymer bridged by oxamido and cyano.
