Abstract :
In this paper we propose a methodology for evaluating the accuracy of an automatic license plate reading system. The proposed methodology estimates accuracy of state (country) recognition and the license plate characters. In addition, we examine the influence of external parameters (time of day, weather) on the accuracy. A case study of a license plate reader at a university testbed is performed.
