  • Abstract
In view of concern regarding the possible adverse health effects that may be derived from exposure to non-ionizing radiation in the radio frequency spectrum, the evaluation of different exposure scenarios is needed. Within these scenarios can be considered the magnetic resonance imaging systems used for medical diagnosis. This article identifies areas of human exposure to radiofrequency fields closer to MRI systems and evaluates the electromagnetic power density existing in these areas. The levels measured are similar to, or lower than those observed in other scenarios, and comply with national and international directives.
