Abstract
The problem of model-based fault detection in control systems is discussed in this paper. The methodology is based oil the use of Proportional Integral Observer (PIO) which will simultaneously estimate the state of the system as well as the actuator or sensor fault. In this paper, we use the least square technique incorporated with PIO to deal with the situation when different types of disturbances appear in the system.
