Abstract :
For high channel recording of auditory evoked potentials (AEP), a 60 channel polyimide electrode array was manufactured by micromachining methods. Based on in vitro evaluations of iridium, activated iridium oxide film (AIROF) and platinum black as electrode materials, the latter was chosen for recording AEPs in vivo from the rat brain. The electrode array picked up a strong sound-related artifact that could be eliminated from the neural signal by mathematical subtraction of an in vitro recorded artifact.
