Abstract
The investigation of two different beamforming techniques, eigenbeamforming and maximum signal-to-noise ratio beamforming, over the geometrical based with hyperbolically distributed scatterers (GB-HDS) channel model is presented. Furthermore, the simplified expression for the improved Gaussian approximation (SEIGA) is used to evaluate the average BER and SIR for a DS-CDMA system. Simulation results indicate that eigenbeamforming provides greater improvement in system capacity compared to maximum SNR beamforming
