Abstract :
In this paper, a shared sub-path protection mechanism for multi-domain optical networks is proposed. It divides the computed working path into several working sub-paths which span two domains. For each working sub-path, two intra-domain and an inter-domain backup sub-paths are computed to protect intra-domain and inter-domain failures. Simulation results show it has shorter failure recovery time and is resource efficient.
