Abstract
In this article, a novel monopole antenna with Koch fractal boundary for ultra-wideband is presented. The proposed antenna with coplanar waveguide-fed structure is compact, which has a total size of only 20 mm × 15 mm × 1 mm. An experimental prototype has been fabricated and tested. The measured results show the impedance bandwidth of the antenna is about covering 4.3GHz to 12GHz with retune loss higher than -10dB. The characteristics of the proposed antenna have been analyzed. In addition, good antenna performances such as radiation patterns and antenna gains over the operating bands have been obtained.
