A Study on Trend Prediction in Sina Weibo Community

With the widespread use of mobile smart device, and its ubiquitous network access capability, microblog have important influence. It is known to all that words less then 140 characters in the microblog community may trigger the huge ripples in the society. And the words in microblog have disruptive influence, even beyond imagination. In this work we present an analytic model for predicting the trend in the microblog community. The method we proposed has the ability of predicting the trend in microblog on a special event. The most pivotal point in trend prediction is accuracy. So we also consider the event similarity computing methods in the microblog. We demonstrate the proposed methods with Sina weibo tweets under enough Sina weibo data.
