Abstract :
This paper presents the results of retrieved aerosol optical thickness over ocean areas and its relationship with droplet sizes of water clouds. The aerosol optical thickness is retrieved from clear sky radiances of channel 1 of AVHRR from ISCCP dataset. The results show consistent distribution patterns of aerosol optical thickness with other authors´ work. The aerosol optical thickness shows a negative relation with cloud droplet size, consistent with expected aerosol indirect effect
