Abstract :
One of the least investigated problems of the interaction between RF fields and streams of charged particles is frequency conversion in multidimensional nonlinear beam-wave systems. One aspect of this problem, the effect of the magnetic focusing field induction value on the output characteristics of the millimeter waves hybrid frequency multiplier, is investigated. The multidimensional simulation of beam-wave interaction in a hybrid frequency shifter is carried out, taking into account the change of the magnetic focusing field induction. The enhancement of the output power of higher harmonics of the input signal frequency is obtained for certain values of cyclotron frequency. The physical reasons for the detected effects are considered.
