Abstract :
In the modern city, traffic congestion has become a problem that is urgent to be solved. One most effective way to solve it is giving buses the traffic priority, which can be achieved by proper design of traffic signal phases. This paper took maximal independent set in graph theory as description model to present optimal design of traffic light signal based on bus priority. Then, after both vehicle flow and people flow were taken into account, we put forward real-time phase-adjusting method, and used this method to lead vehicle flow in the intersection. The simulation result shows that our method is effective.
