Abstract
To improve marine power system dynamic performance, a power system stabilizer (PSS) was introduced into traditional system. The PSS uses auxiliary stabilizing signals to control the generator excitation system so as to improve power system dynamic performance. Used input signals to the power system stabilizer is frequency, and itpsilas output signals is affiliated to excitation system. Power system dynamic performance is improved by the damping of system oscillations. By modeling and simulating to excitation system with PSS, this is a effective method of enhancing dynamic stability performance. The system has been successfully run at large marine engine room simulator and a satisfactory result was obtained.
