Abstract
One-dimensional mass-thickness distribution of polyethylene specimen was estimated with an energy-filtering TEM for unstained specimen with suitable calibration points using lamella information as calibration data. Possibility to estimate the free volume ratio distribution and therefore the possibility of free volume distribution itself becomes realistic. Free volume ratio is the average free volume amount along the electron beam line across TEM specimen and it is not free volume distribution itself. We need proper definition of "Free Volume Distribution" for further development
