  • Abstract
Data delivery is accomplished in ad hoc networks using multi-hop peer-to-peer routing. This approach always leads to long delay and routing overhead regardless of whether the routing protocol is in demand. To address this inherent characteristic, this work presents a novel idea adopting dual-card-mode, specific IP naming, and channel assignment methods to expedite the information transmission. The proposed method attempts to avoid route discovery procedure during data transmission, and thus increase reliability and stability capabilities. Simulation results show that the proposed approach achieves substantial improvements in terms of average end-to-end delay, throughput and packet delivery ratio
